We began running our sessions at the end of September 2025, and it’s been incredible to see how quickly the club has grown since then. In just a few months, we’ve built a strong, supportive community of members who bring great energy and commitment to every class. It’s been exciting to watch both new beginners and returning students progress.

“I have been teaching Pilates, Piloxing & Cardio Dance Fit at ALP Active now for a number of years and I am delighted to be able to help so many people get fit & more active in such a friendly, spacious, clean and efficiently run venue. The community are very lucky to have such an amazing sporting facility that is buzzing with activities. My classes attract men and women from 16 – 75 yrs of age, often with 2 or even 3 generations in one class. Attention to detail is reflected by the helpful ALP Active Staff, meeting you in reception, showing you where you need to go, a large safe car park & an overall great atmosphere. Many of my attendees come to my classes whilst their children are doing an activity such as Karate or while their partners are having a swim or playing football. ALP Active is an asset to Darlington, helping to get our kids more active whilst providing a multitude of exercise for Adults.”
At Voices of Darlington it is really important that our students and teaching team feel comfortable in their lesson space and the facilities at ALP Active at Hummersknott hit the right note! The rooms are bright, clean, and spacious and the welcoming atmosphere helps students feel at ease and ready to learn. One of the highlights is being able to use the on-site theatre for our friends and family concerts. It’s a fantastic place to teach and learn. The team are also super friendly and helpful which really makes a difference!
“Since relocating to ALP Active in 2012, Kyokutan Karate has gone from strength to strength by being able to provide regular karate coaching sessions for juniors and seniors, competition squad training sessions, hosting our own regional competition and having two of our members become National Champions. “We are Darlington Town FC Girls Under 17’s and we moved our base over to Hummersknott at the beginning of last season, getting started around the July/August time. We use the Grass Pitches for training and games as well as the 3G Facilities in the winter months for training. The facilities are fantastic and are very well maintained, staff are great, friendly and always accommodating which was one of the main reasons for our move, we couldn’t ask for a better service. Plenty of safe car parking facilities and even the use of refreshments on a Saturday morning which has gone down very well with parent’s and visiting teams. Looking forward to another season at Hummersknott”
This is a lovely pool with wonderful staff who always make us feel welcome. It’s perfect for our swimming lessons and great for all ages, with a shallow end and deep end, making it ideal for all our swimmers.
